2018 Holiday Box
This season's box is inspired by the holidays. It's the most wonderful time of the year; the time where we get together with family and friends, and celebrate new beginnings. Though the weather outside is getting chilly, the warmth of the holiday season is all around us.
Each item was carefully selected from partners who are not only talented, but also care about their community and the environment!
Nova Scotia Fisherman- Sea Fennel and Bay Berry Lotion (New Minus)
Nova Scotia Fisherman was built on the inspiration to create quality products and employment opportunities in rural Canada. This is evident in their ingredients and results in premium body care. Sourcing local innovators and seeking out products close to the earth and shores, Nova Scotia Fisherman is aware of the landscape, the environment and their customer’s health. Nova Scotia Fisherman use local kelp in all of their products. This slippery ingredient found along our coast line was used for many purposes in Nova Scotian history: a fertilizer, banked alongside houses to keep out winter winds, and as packing material for shipping lobster. Nova Scotia sea kelp has amazing anti-aging properties and has been used in health and beauty products since ancient times. It contains a bounty of ingredients that enrich and sooth dry skin.

My HOME Apparel feels passionate about providing high quality apparel that you can wash and wear over and over again! 100% of their shirts are printed in Nova Scotia, and 75% of their products are made in Canada and then shipped all over the world from their store in Truro. In addition to being a wonderful local company, 5% of all profits are donated back to initiatives to end homelessness in Canada!

Cape Breton Island's best kept secret, the Cape Breton Fudge Company, specializes in handmade, hand cut artisan fudge. Doing business in downtown Sydney, Cape Breton since 2010, the Cape Breton Fudge Company has over 27 flavors of fudge from the traditional chocolate to a local favorite, Breton Whiskey. The Cape Breton Fudge Company also has a selection of candies and treats including the Salt Water Taffy featured in our Summer Box. A traditional seaside favorite, Salt Water Taffy is as fun to eat as it is to look at!
EurekaTec - Holiday Ornament (Lower Sackville)
EurekaTec is a technology-focused company that offers 3D printing and laser engraving services as well as prototyping, vinyl cutting, light manufacturing, wood signs, gifts, custom wedding decor and much more. Starting from his basement in 2015, Mohammed, owner of EurekaTec, knew he was on to something. With just one high quality 3D Printer he purchased online, he began what is now the only local source for 3D printers and filament in HRM. As a child, Moh was always disassembling his toys. His passion for tinkering only grew with age, and combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, Eureka Technologies was founded. Helping his customers find their “Eureka!” moment is his passion, and helping them bring their ideas to light is the foundation of the hub for community innovation that EurekaTec has created.

Founded in 1995 as Canada's first Fair Trade coffee roaster, Just Us! is a worker co-operative exclusively roasting specialty grade, certified fair trade and organic coffee. They work hard to preserve the integrity of their supply chain, from seed to cup. Just Us! stands for justice. They are not just a coffee company, but a social enterprise using coffee as a vehicle for change. They work directly with their producer-partners to work out a truly fair price based on each co-op’s true cost of production along with social premiums above the fair trade minimum price. They are a company where fairness and transparency aren't just buzzwords, but the lens through which they operate their business.
Glass and Glitter - Seaside Mug (Eastern Passage)
Leanne MacKenzie started Glass and Glitter Gifts in 2014 after an unexpected job loss. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it blessed her with the opportunity to finally do what she had always dreamed of doing since finishing her business degree: create and run her own business. Leanne creates graphic designs for ceramics as well as other gift wares. She also creates digital custom graphic printables that are available on her Etsy shop. Her designs are strong in nautical and maritime themes.
